You will enter the Porta del Frumento (Corn Door) on a tour that will take you inside the Doge's Palace, a masterpiece of Gothic art in Venice. The Palace was the symbol, and the centre, of the political and administrative life of the "Repubblica Serenissima" and its power over the seas and the many people of the Mediterranean. Sumptuous governmental rooms, private rooms for the Doge's pleasure, impressive rooms for public justice, rooms for causing fear and imprisoning enemies of the city. The Doge's Palace symbolises all of this, as over the years it has represented the power and prestige of a great nation that became the “Queen of the Sea”.
